Rosseno Villa – Best All-Inclusive Villa in Yogyakarta!
⚠️Warning: This is a seriously long post because this villa is just too awesome! It will be ideal to check out Rosseno Villa availability and price here first to avoid any disappointment! It costed us around US$72 per person per day when we visit Yogyakarta during holiday period! Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉
Been a famous tourism spot in Indonesia that have many UNESCO world heritage sites like Borobudur Temple Compounds and Prambanan Temple Compounds, Yogyakarta has many accommodation options to choose from and we were really spoilt for choices!
Luckily, we managed to book a top rated accommodation called Rosseno Villa in Booking.com and throughout our Yogyakarta trip, we never regret booking this place and so far, this is the best villa we have ever stayed in Indonesia. You will find out why in this post!
Before I start, here’s a brief history about the owner of this villa, Meggie who was from Holland and met her the other half in Bali. After they got married, Meggie wanted to continue to stay in Bali while her husband wanted to stay in Jakarta instead. In the end, they found a middle point and that is staying in Yogyakarta! LOL!
To increase the household income, Meggie decided to open a villa in Yogyakarta. With a big bag of cold hard cash (yes, it was still not so high tech enough to do bank transfer, LOL), they bought a piece of land and turned it into a tourist heaven!
Since the accommodation industry in Yogyakarta is very competitive, they decided to provide many services to be a clear differentiator and these services are all-inclusive. Continue and check them out!
A Whole New World
⬆️⬆️⬆️ Yeah, you might be singing the Aladdin song!
Tucked away from the busy city of Yogyakarta, upon entering Rosenno Villa, it was just like stepping into another world. Even the trees are properly dressed up! 😂😂😂
Nice greeneries with large swimming pool, a perfect getaway! And the good thing is that each villa has its own pool so you can have your own privacy!
At night, the villa was well-lighted and with the crickets sound, this place was absolutely peaceful and I felt like I am back to nature with the comfort of a hotel stay.
Check out the honeymoon suite! This place is the best alternative to Bali for newly-weds!
Rosenno Villa is surrounded by padi field so it is almost like staying at Ubud in Bali.
This is the view from the dining area! Welcome to Mother Nature! 🌾🌾🌾
Awesome Food from Maymay’s Kitchen
We were stunned by the wide variety of food served by Rosseno Villa and how yummilicious the food were! And yes, they were all-inclusive without extra charges!!! 😍😍😍
Upon landing in Yogyakarta, the driver from Rosseno Villa picked us up and passed us our very first meal. Time for our first foodie impression from this villa!
When we opened the lunchboxes, we were:
erm okay, nasi goreng loh!
Then we have our first mouth and everyone of us were like:
wow! the fried rice tasted very nice!
The rice were still warm as it is kept in a warmer (how thoughtful!). The rice were very well-fried and you can taste the fragrant of the rice bursting in your mouth! We certified this is the best nasi goreng we ever had. Even Candyce and Jiaying who are not rice lovers, can also finish ¾ of the portion!
The nasi goreng is really like Kinder Surprise! Just when we thought it was a plain fried rice, suddenly someone exclaimed in the van:
look there’s a sunny side up inside!
Upon hearing that, the rest of us started digging for our treasure! LOL, this nasi goreng was such a good start for our jogja adventure! 🎉🎉🎉
Day 1 dinner time! Our dining area was at a private corner beside our villa swimming pool. Good move, we can really chat on top of our LUNGS! trolololol! 📢📢📢
Our first dinner were greeted with some indonesian cuisines. The food made me felt like I was at home! 😍🏡🏠
We were very lucky to be staying at Rosseno Villa during holiday period. When we were back after our day 2 adventure, Meggie who was fully dolled up, told us that there will be a special 10 courses dinner for our New Year Eve night!
Here’s our 10 course meal menu:
- Tomato soup with garlic bread
- Chicken salad
- Salmon with tofu
- Mini-murtabak
- Salad Solo – beef and vegetables (also known a President’s salad)
- Nasi Goreng Traditional (combination of rice with egg, deviled egg & popcorn chicken)
- Banana spilt
- Black Forest Cake
- Fruit Platter
- We lost count, there were simply too much food! LOL! Best villa ever!
Day 3 dinner! Since it is New Year’s day, to mark the start of our 2017, they prepared us a special dinner too! The chef (on the right) was so proud of herself that she could not help but to whip out her phone and took some photos of her masterpiece! 😂😂😂
Tadah! Nasi Tumpeng, a Indonesian festive cuisine that is only served to the king last time! We felt really like having a royal family dinner! 👑👑👑
Ahhhhh finally we have the time to enjoy our breakfast in the villa on the 2nd last day! For the rest of the days, we had our breakfast in the car, which were chocolate croissants and they are seriously very delicious too!
Check out the wholesome spread! There were tapas-styled sandwiches, crispy thin pancake that Jiaying love a lot and fruit juice which we requested and they made it! Top notch customer service! 😍😍😍
Cooking Class
Oh yeah, if you like their cooking, you can learn how to make some of the Indonesian cuisines from these villa for FREE! 😱😱😱 They are taking the term all-inclusive a bit too seriously! LOL! 😂😂😂 Sadly, due to our tight travel schedule, we do not have the chance to slow down and enjoy this service! Dun worry, I’ll be back (imagine terminator 🤖)!
Homely Accommodation
The whole interior was filled with warm light which gave us a homely feeling!
There were lots of snacks and beverages. We love the crunch cake (left) the most!
When we first reached the villa, there were fruits on the table for us to enjoy. The feeling was just like going back home whereby my mum will always cut fruits and urge us to eat more as they are good for our health! 😂😂😂
We were definitely happy to be back ‘home’ after a long tired but fulfilling day! 😚😚😚 Time to pack our dirty clothes together because free laundry service is also included! 😱😱😱 We are really been spoilt! 😆😆😆
Magic Fridge
Most of the accommodations out there charges for their soft drinks. But over here, we had plenty supply of soft drinks for us to take for free. Before we set off for our long day, the fridge will be emptied by us.
And every time we came back to the villa, the magic fridge has been filled with these sinful stuff again, miracle! LOL, but diabetic alert! ⚠️⚠️⚠ bwahahahaaha! 😂😂😂️
Cats’ Paradise
If your eyes are sharp, you will spot cats in some of the above photos!

Luna the Queen
Yup, that’s right! This villa is not only paradise for tourists but also for cats. Cat lovers will definitely love this place as it houses around 8 well-groomed cats within the villa.

Cantik the Gentle One
You will see different cats in almost every spot with their usual cattitude (sometimes friendly sometimes not)! LOL, Cats, that’s why I like them a lot! 😍😍😍 Meggie told us the reason why there are no mosquito in the villa is because the mosquitos do not like the smell that the cat gives off when they marked their territory! Interesting Fact #TIL (today i learnt)!
Massage Included!!!
Yes! Massage is also inclusive (FREE!😍)!!! Been typical kiasu Singaporeans, we always booked the masseurs in advance. 😆 There were 2 masseurs, and take our advice, go for the guy, we are massage pros and the guy skill is the best! But free one lah, we dun complain about the female masseur here, let’s just say that her massage style is very unique! 😂😂😂
Fast & Friendly Drivers
⬆️⬆️⬆️ Yeah sounds like a prequel to ‘Fast & Furious’ series. 😂😂😂 Anyway all our transport throughout the entire Yogyakarta trip was provided by Rosseno Villa without any charges! 😱😱😱
When we arrived at Adisutjipto Airport, we were greeted by Rosseno Villa driver with a big smile! Their drivers can understand English which made communication so much easier! 👍👍👍
This was the van that drove us around Jogja for only Day 1. I love this van because it was not only eye-catching and easy to spot, the seats were able to lower to almost 180 degree flat and we were like sitting on a moving beds. 😂😂😂
Due to our tight itinerary, Meggie assigned us another driver, Lasiman. He is a man of few words, but like a sweet & thoughtful father taking care of us, the 4 kids. 😂😂😂 When we asked him to eat, he took the food out for us to eat first. When we asked for toilet, magically, he can immediately find one public toilet for us!
One time, the radio was playing Bruno Mars ‘Uptown Funk’ and we were singing:
I’m too hot! Hot damn!
Lasiman, without second thought, immediately turn up the air con and fan to cool us down! 😂😂😂😂 This was really one epic moment in our trip! 😂😂😂😂
Lasiman is basically a walking map, he needs no GPS nor Google Map! When he was lost (2 times only), he dun said ‘Okay Google!’. He just stopped by the road and:
Okay Villagers!
LOL, he just asked the people on the road! This is what I called a true blue crowdsourcing! 😆😆😆
Check out our ride! In this car, we have been through smooth roads 😍, opposite lanes 😱, winding roads 😵 and rough terrains 🤐. Yet, there are no reporting of car-sickness which some of us are prone to. Good job, Soldier Lasiman!
When we reached almost the end of the trip, we managed to check out Lasiman’s house which is right opposite Rosenno Villa! The moment they step out of the car (I walk over there, those lazy bums! 😂), we were stunned by the cool vintage Mercedes-Benz. According to Lasiman, this antique still can move! 😱😱😱 But too bad, we were too shy and rejected the ride, else it will be damn cool! Well, photos, selfies and welfies are more than enough! 😉
Lastly, the moment of truth about our driver Lasiman. When he humbly pointed to us the trophies on top of a cupboard, I was thinking:
Okay loh, same as me, lots of trophies that I got from random competitions during kindergarten and primary school days! 😂
MysteryLuck, the sharp one, proceeded forward to take a closer look and screeched:
OMGWTFBBQ! Sia lah! He is an ex-rally racer!
😱😱😱 😱😱😱 😱😱😱 yes, we were stunned again and this time, it was a truth that was harder to digest. My jaw dropped wide and memories of the rides with Lasiman started flowing and connecting!
Eureka! No wonder he is so skillful 😍😍😍 We are sitting in a godmode rally racer’s car! 😱😱😱
Meggie always said our itinerary was too tight and now we know why! Only Speedy Gonzales Lasiman can accomplish it! Thank you very much, we are truly indebted to you 😍😍😍 and sorry for been so greedy! 😭😭😭 (super touched)
Passionate Host

We had to set off at 5.15am to catch our flight, and she was there wide awake to send us off! 😱 Salute your commitment! 😍👍
Meggie is really passionate about what she is doing! We always saw her around in the villa as she needs to oversee everything. Been a perfectionist, she will personally check every villa everyday to ensure the standard is there.
My only wish for her is that she can take good care of her own well being by putting some of the things down and relax a bit. Hopefully she can find a capable captain so that she can delegate some of her many chores! 🙏🙏🙏
Conclusion
Do you still need a conclusion after such a long post? 🤔🤔🤔
In a nutshell, we felt like prince and princess been well-served throughout the trip. Plus it was almost all-inclusive which made our trip budgeting so much easier! No sudden expenses surprises! Nice! 😍😍😍
My only tip for you is to plan your Yogyakarta trip early! They are always fully booked and you know why now! 😇👍 Check out Rosseno Villa availability and price here now!
