- A Day Trip to Yarra Valley: Gateway Market, St Hubert’s Winery, and Yarra Valley Dairy - 29th March 2023
Iceland has been pretty great trip for the two of us. We were very lucky to visit and experience the nature of Iceland. Now, our next destination will be London.
We both were reluctant to leave Iceland as we have been enjoying the fantastic scenery with our rented 4WD.🤣🤣🤣
At the same time,we are also looking forward to exploring England where we can eat lots of varieties of food. So contradicting, isn’t it!🍟🍗🍜🍱🍢🍡🍙🍔🍤
After 3 hours of flight, we arrived in London, Healthrow Airport. Unlike Iceland, transportation is very accessible here. We took a train from the airport to our Air B&B located in the city area to put down our luggage as we have 4 luggages (2 big and 2 small) for our whole trip.
As we were on the train, we were very lucky to be able to have a seat as the ride is about an hour. We woke up very early today to catch the plane and so we got a little sleepy. 😴
This weird TowkayNew suddenly touched his armpit like a monkey! 🐒 He really does the weirdest thing and people stared at his action! And i rolled my eyes! Phew, lucky it was just for few seconds.😅😅😅
After putting down our luggages, we took a train to Candem Market.
Candem Market
Candem market is a fashion street with lots of food and cool shops.🥁🎷🎸🎻
Candem Market is very crowded on weekend with lots of locals and tourists like us.🚶🏻🚶🏼♀️🚶🏻🚶🏼♀️
There are many things to see see look look.
There is such a range of goods in the different mini shops. There are fashion and vintage, jewellery, shoes and accessories, home and decoration, gifts games and hobbies, music, books and film, art and photography, food and drink. You may be able to get some unique items that you like while browsing.
This is like a Pasar Malam (Street Market) in Asia context. We love the mini shops and the many cute displays. For us, it is just window shopping as we have things we need already!😄
Candem Market Opening Hours
7 days week from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Except for Christmas Day
Horse Tunnel Market
Quick Facts: Candem stables used to be a horse stable and hospital. There were a total of about 400 horses in 1926. The horses were for pulling trains, trains parts, transporting goods and passenger luggage. Any horses injured will be treated in the on-site hospital.
As you walk around, you will pass by Horse Tunnel market.🐎🐎🐎 This is also known as Stables market. This whole place is one of London’s Most Popular Weekend Tourist attraction.
The Stables Market is now the largest of Camden’s market spaces with a variety of food (From Asia food to Italian food), fashion and craft stalls.🥗🍔🌯🌮🥓
We arrived at about 3pm, we decided to just settle down with Italian hotdog prata. We didn’t eat for the whole day since 4am. Very hungry hungry!!!🌭🌭🌭
Personally, I love the structure of this Candem Market. A very unique market that should be visited and explored!😋😋😋
There are also many photo taking opportunities for those who love to take photos. As this is the first phone booth that we saw, we were very excited and so we took photo with it! I like the architecture of this Horse Tunnel Market.😄😄😄
Cool Vespas scooters for display
Street human statues for photo taking
Candem locks and river
This is the lock that connects with the main trade routes. You will be able to see some private cruises along this river.
Oxford Street
Next, we took a train to the very famous street in London- Oxford Street for Shopping! After shopping for a while, we realised that the shops are closing soon as it is Sunday.
⚠️Most shops are closed after 5pm on Sunday.🙁🙁🙁
There goes my shopping plans. It’s okay, we said to ourselves, we will come back another day.🙃🙃🙃
Steak & Lobster Bloomsbury
We made a reservation at Steak & Lobster Bloomsbury.
Wohoo!!! Finally we can have some seafood and Steak for Dinner. We are so looking forward as food in Iceland has been really expensive!
Check out our happy and hungry faces! And the best thing here is that the friess and salad are free flow!!! You can eat till you are full.
We ordered one steak and one lobster so that we can try both the main course.🍽
LOBSTER
For a lobster lover like me, I really love the grilled lobster that they cooked.
The fresh is so juicy and sweet. It is just so delicious that no words can describe! Hehe…
Mama-mia😋😋😋
STEAK
For the steak, we ordered Medium Rare, it is very tender and suit our taste. We both love it too!
But if I need to choose between lobster and steak, I will choose the LOBSTER instead!
Fries and Salad
Since the fries and salads are free flow, we couldn’t control ourselves and we kept asking for more after we finished our own portion. The vegetables are very fresh and the fries are chunky fries which we can taste the potatoes inside. So yummy and awesome!🥗🍟🥗🍟
They have many branches around London and this is one of them.
I felt that it is notchbad for the portion and the price.
Each set cost 20 pounds, very value for money! We will be back for more!😂😂😂
