Located in Sentosa, an offshore island in the south of Singapore and located in Resorts World. There are a few accommodations in Resorts World Sentosa Singapore:
- St Michael
- Crockford Tower
- Beach Villas
- Festive Hotel
- Hard Rock Hotel
- Ocean Suites
- Equarius Hotel
Being stuck in Singapore during this never-ending ‘endemic’, we booked a 3d2n staycation at Equarius Hotel. This is our first staycation with our 2 children- a 2+ years old toddler and a 6-weeks old newborn. While it’s never easy to go out with both, we decided to take a leap of faith and see how our first staycation experience would be with these two tiny monsters!

Checking in to Hotel Equarius
The carpark is located at B1M. We parked our car at B1M and took a lift to level 1 to check-in. For those with luggages, I would suggest you to drop off your luggage at the level 1 reception before heading to park your car as from B1M you would need to push ur luggage up a mini slope to the entrance and go through the gantry safe entry which is not very assessible.
You can choose to self-check-in or check-in through the counter. At the lobby, there are many seats where you can sit to wait for your turn. The check-in process took pretty long(around 20 min). Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, there’s a limited number of people staying and we are even required to present our IC as well as the children birth certificate (physical or in soft copies).
Once we got our key card, we were very excited and we proceeded to our room. Our luggages are still in the car as we have no hands to take.
The safe-distancing ambassador is situated at the entrance to the rooms and all guests are required to present their identification card before entering their rooms.
Equarius Hotel is really huge, we had to walk quite a distance before reaching the lift lobby to the hotel room. I would definitely recommend getting the bell boy to assist as it will take some effort in pushing the luggages across the long carpet floor especially for young family like us!
Garden View Deluxe Room
We stayed in the deluxe room with a private garden. The moment we step in, we were very impressed by the size of the room! Compared to many others, we found that this room is bigger than most of the hotels in Singapore. For families with children, the room is spacious enough and relatively safe for them to roam around. Additionally, having the king-size bed is awesome, we can sleep comfortably with our elder girl while the younger girl can sleep in the baby cot or vice versa depending on where Riley wants to sleep! LOL! We still have lots of space even with the baby cot around. This is definitely one of our considerations when we book this hotel.
Huge Bathroom!
Another “must-have” for us is the bathtub as that’s what makes a staycation different from staying at home! Plus, for us, we are going to stay in this room almost all the time. Thus, we would always ask “got bathtub?” before considering a hotel room for a staycation! This time, we bought rainbow bath bombs to enjoy our time in the bathtub. The hotel provides 1 packet of bath salt, you can call the guest service for more if you need more.
Kids will really love the bathtub! From the picture, you can tell what a great time this father and daughter had in the bathtub! One thing that you should also know is that the bathtub is bigger than the regular! As you can see, it can fit TowkayNew (my hubby) and Riley! This was really perfect for us!
Private Garden!
We thought about whether to have a garden view or not during the booking and we were glad that we choose the one with a private garden. While it is slightly more pricey, the money was well spent seeing how happy they were in the garden! The garden view was so pretty and the grass was also well-maintained that we can let our kids run and roll around. Unexpectedly, we spent most of our time in this private little garden. Towkaynew and Riley just kept chasing around in this big space.
Iconic Cable Car View!
Our first outdoor family photo. We have not really been out the last few weeks due to the rising cases so we were really happy to be out of the house on a staycation. Riley’s face shows it all!
We also brought our own bubbles so that we can have some fun playing bubbles to make full use of the garden as it is definitely safer to play bubbles here than in the bathroom. We love the garden a lot as we can just go out to enjoy the scenery and fresh air while Riley can just run around as and when she wants! We made really good use of this garden over the last 3 days during the staycation!
Largest Swimming Pool in RWS!
We were highly recommended by our friends to visit the pool. So what’s so special about the pool? Let’s find out!
Before that, do note that reservation is required for the swimming pool through the help desk during this period of time. Do remember to bring IC, phone(for tracetogether) and room card for entry to the pool. To get to the swimming pool, we need to take a lift to level 1 lobby, exit the hotel lobby and walk around 5 min to the pool.
Wow, the swimming pool is extremely huge with lots of greenery. It feels so “Batam/bintan” feels! It’s almost as if we are out of Singapore.
While we visited some hotel with freezing cold water, we are always worried that the kids would catch a cold but over here, the water temperature is just nice – not too cold or too hot. You can tell that they are enjoying and just lazing in the pool.
There are some other guests staying in the beach villas with direct pool access, these villas come with a jacuzzi as well! For those who love pool view can book direct pool access and can just jump into the water as and when they want!
We definitely had a super fun time at the pool. I highly recommend everyone to check out the pool and relax there to get a break from everything else! It’s really very peaceful and relaxing so good that Towkaynew and Riley didn’t get enough on the 2nd day, they went to the pool again on the 3rd day before checking out!
Dining! It’s Makan Time!
As Equarius hotel is located in a more secluded end of Resort World, a resort shuttle bus is available every 5-10 min between hotel and resort world.
As we had 2 little ones with us and dine-in regulations, we choose to dine in our room. There are a variety of food options to choose from McDonald’s, Texas chicken, Putien, Ding Tai Fung, Lenu, Duckland, HK central kitchen. During our stay, we ate McDonald’s for dinner on the 1st day and Lenu and HK Central kitchen on our 2nd day.
There is some takeaway promotion of 20% Lenu and 15% HK central kitchen.
We also ordered Grab for breakfast as we needed to settle our kids and it is very convenient to go down collect the food instead of taking the shuttle bus to buy.
Final Verdict!
For those of you that are reading this post, all I can say is that we enjoyed our staycation at Equarius Hotel! We had a really good time and a pleasant experience! I would also recommend booking the garden view for families with kids. You can even build a tent with kids to watch the stars at night! Despite being further from RWS main area, we love how peaceful and quiet the hotel was. Plus, you get to enjoy the huge pool as if you are out of Singapore (while in Singapore)! My one and only minus point is that I felt that the check-in process was a little long which can be improved to save more time so that we can enjoy our staycation faster. I hope this post is helpful for all of you considering your next choice of staycation!
